Letter from the President

To all Members within NTXHL.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Weekend. I am sure that most of you were at a Hockey Rink somewhere around the country attending Holiday Tournaments. Hope everyone did well.

Let the NTXHL Board be one of the first to wish everyone a very Happy and Joyous Holiday season. It has been a busy year for all of us in the hockey world and especially for the League. I want to thank the Board members, all the Commissioners, Team Managers, Coaches and everyone that is making this season such a success.

A special thanks to Jason Maurer and Tanya Brewer who have spent many hours on keeping the Website and Pointstreak’s up to date. Everyone is working hard to get the scores posted quickly.

Some of the improvements we have added include a list of hotels for the Metroplex area. It is our intent to add additional Cities for next season. We will be looking for help in each of the Cities to make that happen.

Playoff dates have been set. The format will be the same as last year. First we will need to be notified by any team that does not want to be in the playoff format. The Texas Attack Teams and the all Girls Team will not be in the Playoffs. Seeding for the playoffs will be determined once we have this information. The top 4 teams in each Division will get a bye in the first round. The first round will be played March 8th & 9th with the remaining teams and the top team in each division will move onto the semi finals as the 5th team. The semi finals will be played the weekend on March 15th & 16th. The finals, the top 2 teams in each Division from the semi-finals will be played March 29th & 30th. There will be no playoffs Easter weekend.

We have been working in the Fundraising area and looking for different groups that could help your teams and Associations in easing the financial pain. We are adding a Tab for Fundraising. We will be putting links in there to different Fundraising opportunities. The first one is with the Youth Sports Coalition who are offering a set of CD’s that will help Players become better players and people and Parents to become better supporters of hockey. Check it out under the Fundraising tab.

Also, for all the Texas A&M and Texas Tech students, alumni, and fans there is a game schedule on December 23rd to be played at the American Airlines Center at 1:30 PM. (doors open at 12:30 PM) Both these schools have Club Division II teams that play in the ACHA League. It will be general admission and all seats will be in the Lower Bowl with signage posted for A&M and Tech cheering areas. Let’s get out and cheer these two schools on.

Have a very happy Holiday Season and be Safe.
