Team managers be sure to read the "Pointstreak Guidelines" on how to request a change to a game that has been entered into pointstreak.
Below is the Line-Up card that we will be implementing this year to help get Pointstreak a little more accurate. The Coach will be required to cross-off any player not participating in a particular game, put date, check Home or Away, sign it and then provide it to the Scorekeeper. The Scorekeeper will then update the roster for that game in Pointstreak before the game begins.
Suggestion, modify the card for your team. Include 100% of the roster as well as Coaches and their CEP#. That way, it becomes a routine for the Coach to cross-off players and sign. The enclosed is good for 2 games. Generate the Master for your team and then keep copies in the same folder that you bring to games and also put some in the car’s glove compartment.
When sending your email requests for any/all changes that have to do with pointstreak , (rosters, games, etc.) be sure to indicate your teams full name. Include color (red/blue) if it applies to your team. Your help is greatly appreciated. We are dealing with 150 teams almost daily and it makes our job a lot easier to not have to take time to search.
Example - Midget Minor A Red - Jones
Regarding point streak, some scorekeepers are entering and some are not entering the backup goalie on the player list. On the printout sheet both goalies are listed and the starter checked but some scorekeepers are only entering the checked goalie in the player list at the terminal. We just became aware that they need to be listed for the 20/10 rule for state tournaments. Re-cap -- both goalies present must be entered into the system for each game - you enter the starter as the goalie and the backup goalie is selected as the BACK UP.
To All Associations-
There has been some recent communication that has clearly caused some confusion on the process of scheduling refs and scorekeepers. I want to apologize for the confusion and clearly define the process for everyone. Some of this will be elementary to those who have been doing this for some time. With that said there are always new people involved in the process for DFW and non DFW teams so I will outline each scenario.
DFW area Associations:
· Nothing has changed as it relates to the DFW teams. If two DFW teams are playing, the association that owns the ice is responsible for scheduling the refs and scorekeepers. This is the same way we have done things for years.
· If a DFW team (or association)traded a sheet of ice to an out of town team during the scheduling meeting or any other time, for them to use as game ice, it is that DFW teams responsibility to schedule the refs and scorekeepers for that time slot regardless if they’re playing on that ice or not. If you are the original owner, you schedule it.
Non- DFW teams:
· Scenario 1 (playing a DFW team): It does not matter who the home or away team is. The team that owns the ice (the HOST team) is responsible for scheduling refs and scorekeepers. Example: If a Houston team traded or bought a sheet of ice from any DFW team during the scheduling meeting, it is that DFW team’s responsibility to schedule refs and scorekeepers for you.
· If you bought ice from either the Stars Center, ITC or NYTEX during the scheduling meeting to HOST a game against a DFW or Non-DFW team, the rink operator (Keith Andresen, Kevin Smith or Frank Trazzera) will schedule the refs and scorekeepers for that sheet of ice. If you buy ice from any other rinks besides the ones I just listed (such as Polar Ice or Addison Square Garden, etc) you will need to contact Ken Reinhard @ president@mhoa.org directly to schedule the officials. You will also need to contact Sheila Thompson @ thompson_st@tx.rr.com to schedule scorekeepers.
These are the procedures for scheduling in the DFW area. This should cover each possible scenario. With that said, it is ultimately each individual team manager’s responsibility to ensure that refs and scorekeepers are scheduled (by the proper person) for their games. I would recommend that each of you send Ken and Sheila a spreadsheet with your games listed and they can verify that refs and scorekeepers have been scheduled.
